Former Vice-President of the International Football Federation (FIFA) and former President of the South American football Confederation (CONMEBOL) Juan Napout was sentenced to 9 years in prison  for bribery.

According to Reuters, the Brooklyn court in New York sentenced Paraguayan to 9 years in prison and rewarded a compensation of $ 4.3 million.

According to the statements of 30 witnesses, including former heads of marketing companies, from 2010 till 2016 Napout received illegally  €10.5 million.
