The midfielder of Manchester City David Silva announced his retirement from the national team of Spain.

“I had a lot of time to think about it and finally I made a decision to end my career in the national team. This was one of the most difficult decisions in my life. I am proud to finish the 12-year period with the team, with which I won the World Cup and twice became the  European Champion. With this team I achieved everything I have ever dreamt of. I am ending this era filled with emotions and different moments, which I will never forget,” – wrote the star-player on his page in Twitter.

Silva has been playing for Spain since 2006. He took part in 129 games and scored 37 goals.

After the World Cup 2018 not only David Silva, but also Gerard Pique and  Andres Iniesta have ended their careers in the national team of Spain.
